As an 501(c)3 entity associated with Tuskegee Airman Incorporated, The Tuskegee Airman Flight Academy of New Orleans is under contract with the City of New Orleans to provide training and mentorship to young aviators from the City of New Orleans.

Tuskegee Airman Flight Academy is a Tuskegee Airmen- inspired jumpstart to a career in aviation for New Orleans high school students who are committed to service, teamwork, and excellence.

The opportunity
In partnership with the City of New Orleans, the Flight Academy is seeking 10 high school junior and seniors to earn their private pilots license this summer at LakeFront Airport. Students must be 17 years old by the end of summer due to federal aviation regulations. Students must be able to commit to training for the entire summer. Please apply today!

Safety is the first priority in all our activities. We are committed to implementing, developing and improving strategies, management systems and processes to ensure that all our aviation activities uphold the highest level of safety performance and meet national and international standards.
mentoring our youth
Mentoring is our approach used for engaging youth who experience additional vulnerability or adversity, and are in need of positive adult support. We provide youth with mentors who can provide support, guidance, and opportunities to help our youth succeed in life and meet their goals.
scholarship opportunities
We provide Academic Scholarships and Tuition Assistance support to deserving candidate. 252 to date & $275,000 in Scholarship awards.

Our programs rely solely on private donations and generosity of chapter volunteers. As pilot demand continues to soar, we believe the RedTail Flight Academy is a critical next step for which your support is essential to foster the aspiring, underrepresented youth of tomorrow for many years to come.
